Do More of What Already Works
As a Marketing Performance Strategist, I find that one of the biggest secrets to success in any business I come across (as it relates to marketing) is to look at what’s working and do more of it.
Most entrepreneurs are conditioned to do the opposite.
They have some things working well in their business, but then they look at what’s not working well (which ad campaign isn’t working, which media isn’t pulling, which products aren’t selling, etc.) and they waste so much time trying to fix the parts that aren’t working well.
I have found that the real gold lies within looking for any positive results at all, anywhere in your business, and then milking it for all its worth.
- Do you use multiple media to reach your ideal prospect? Run a report right now to see which media or methods are bringing the most leads in.
- Do you sell multiple products or services? Run a report right now and see which of your products or services are producing 75 percent of your revenues.
- Do you have certain clients that spend more with you than others? Run a report to find out who those people are and sell more to them.
If you ignore improving all the others, and just spend your time pushing harder on those top producers, I believe you’ll make far greater leaps in your business growth than if you do the opposite.
The natural tendency that entrepreneurs have is to fix and solve problems.
The reality is, for making more money… it’s to optimize what’s working instead of looking to force under-performing elements to perform better.
As Tony Robbins says, “What you focus on expands.”
Focus on what’s working well, and do more of it.
